Did you know…
Did you know that nearly 30% of children grind their teeth at night, and a custom-fitted night guard can prevent long-term damage to their teeth?
At Memorial Children’s Dentistry, we focus on prevention, comfort, and long-term smile protection for children. Our board-certified pediatric dentists carefully check your child’s teeth and recommend dental sealants when they can help protect cavity-prone molars.
We make the sealant process simple, quick, and kid-friendly. With no shots or drilling needed, dental sealants are an easy way to give your child’s back teeth extra protection against cavities.

Night guards help prevent the excessive wear of tooth enamel caused by grinding and clenching, which can lead to dental issues such as sensitivity and fractures.
By cushioning the teeth, night guards reduce the tension on the jaw muscles, alleviating pain and discomfort often associated with bruxism.
Night guards help minimize the muscle strain caused by grinding, which can reduce the occurrence of morning headaches in children.
During the initial consultation, the dentist will assess your child’s teeth and jaw alignment, often looking for signs of teeth grinding (bruxism) or jaw clenching. X-rays may be taken to ensure a comprehensive evaluation.
To create a personalized night guard, the dentist will take impressions of your child’s teeth. These impressions are used to fabricate a custom-fitted night guard that is tailored to your child’s mouth, ensuring maximum comfort and protection.
Once the night guard is ready, your child will return to the office for a fitting. The dentist will ensure it fits securely and comfortably. You’ll also receive guidance on how to care for the night guard and tips for ensuring your child adjusts to wearing it at night.
